Hazzard to be
named new Police Chief
February 12 -
Well, the back room politics are over and the decision has been made. At this
evening's monthly meeting of the Cornwall Town Board, Todd Hazzard will be
named the new Cornwall Police Chief.
Hazzard, a Cornwall native who is
currently employed as a sergeant with the New Windsor Police Department, was
awarded the job after Jim Thorton, the original selectee for the job, had the
offer rescinded last week. The Town Board's decision to rescind the offer to
Thorton came after a less than gracious revelations on Thorton's qualifications
were revealed to the public and media.
Random Notes . . .
Look for some quick changes at the
CPD, and don't be surprised if some of its senior staff decide to look for
employment elsewhere.
